Food and paper, please!
The Save Organic
Scraps Program (SOS) recycles food scraps and paper from school
cafeterias in Clark County, WA. Since 2005, the Vancouver, Camas
and Evergreen School Districts have sent more than 2 million
pounds of organic matter to Cedar Grove Composting, rather than the landfill.
The SOS Program is a winning partnership and unique educational
opportunity for schools in Clark County. The SOS Program offers
field
trips,
speakers and presentations, engaging lesson
plans,
teacher
workshops,
workbooks,
and resources for check out to area educators.
